Finsight

Finsight is my own product. I built it from the first idea to the first 1,000 users. It keeps accounts, expenses, debts, loans and analytics in one place for individuals, families and small teams.

The app is local-first. It works with a local SQLite database, and PowerSync syncs the changes with the backend in the background, so the interface never waits for the network. Sensitive fields are encrypted on the device before they leave it, so the server keeps data it cannot read. The backend runs on Django with PostgreSQL, and one codebase ships to web, Android, iOS and Windows.

Uchet.EDO

Uchet.EDO is a document exchange service for Kazakhstan. Companies sign acts, invoices and contracts with a digital signature and send them to counterparties, and those documents hold the same legal weight as paper. More than 200,000 companies use it, from small businesses to Wolt, Glovo and 2GIS.

Here I worked as team lead and tech lead rather than a developer. I led a small team, owned the technical direction and the decisions behind it, and spent most of my time on two things: keeping the service reliable at that scale, and helping the people on the team grow.

As the lead developer of Uchet PK, I designed a scalable system architecture capable of processing data from over 25 government sources. I developed an optimized data verification module, reducing response times by 30%, and implemented a robust security system compliant with Kazakhstan's legal requirements. My contributions ensured system stability with a 99.9% uptime under increasing load and facilitated seamless integration with external analytical tools. Additionally, I led a team of 3 developers, coordinating efforts to deliver new features and improve the user experience.

Weather App

This weather forecasting application was developed to enhance my skills in React. It fetches real-time weather data and displays it in an intuitive and responsive interface. Key features include light and dark themes for an improved user experience, automatic location detection for local forecasts, and the ability to search for weather in specific cities. The project demonstrates proficiency in working with external APIs, handling user inputs, and implementing adaptive design principles.

VideoHub

I developed VideoHub, a full-cycle video hosting platform, handling all aspects of its architecture and functionality. The platform includes a modular design with separate components for the frontend, backend, and WebSocket services. I implemented video uploading and real-time chat features, enabling seamless interaction for over 500 simultaneous users. Utilizing Docker for containerization and Celery for background tasks, I ensured scalable and efficient operations. The platform achieved an 80% reduction in video processing time by integrating an optimized transcoding pipeline with FFMPEG.

Parser for Dogovor24

I developed Dogovor24 Parser, an asynchronous tool for efficiently extracting and saving legal documents from the dogovor24.kz website. Leveraging Playwright, I optimized the parsing process to achieve 50% faster data retrieval compared to traditional scraping methods. The parser features detailed logging of progress and error handling mechanisms to ensure reliability. The tool was designed with scalability in mind, enabling support for concurrent parsing tasks, and includes a modular structure for future enhancements.

Home Temp Control

Temp Control is a fully functional smart home thermal management system currently installed and operating in my house. Using the ESP8266 NodeMCU V3 module, it ensures the temperature remains stable and within a predefined range. The system provides dual control options: a user-friendly web interface and a physical three-position button (open-auto-close). An OLED display offers real-time temperature monitoring, while sensors like DHT22 and DS1307 provide accurate data collection. Since its implementation, the system has significantly improved comfort by maintaining a consistent indoor temperature.

Fresh Cargo is a web application I actively supported and developed, now successfully used by clients in Peru. The platform streamlines cargo management and logistics, ensuring a seamless experience for users. My responsibilities included fixing critical bugs, implementing new features based on project requirements, and optimizing both the server and client sides for improved performance. Collaborating with QA specialists, I ensured a stable release process and addressed user-reported issues promptly. The system is now a reliable tool for managing logistics and supports over 50 active users daily.

Parser SlackBot

SlackBot was designed and developed during a hackathon organized by SkillFactory. This project automates the monitoring of websites for new posts and sends notifications to specified Slack channels based on customizable settings. The bot supports multiple modes, including instant notifications and scheduled messaging, and features an intuitive interface for managing tasks and bots. Built with Python and Django, the project achieved recognition for its innovative approach to task automation during the hackathon. The experience allowed me to enhance my skills in rapid prototyping, teamwork, and meeting tight deadlines.

WebSocket Chat

WebSocket Chat is a demo project created to showcase real-time communication features for a freelance client. The application includes public chat rooms, private messaging, and group chats, built with Django Channels and WebSocket technology. While the demo successfully demonstrated the core functionality, the client provided valuable feedback regarding user experience improvements and additional features for better scalability. This project helped refine my skills in real-time systems and taught me the importance of aligning technical solutions with client expectations.

Automatic Trash Bin

This project features an automatic trash can designed for hands-free operation, built using an Arduino Uno microcontroller and an MG996 servo motor. The lid opens automatically in response to motion detection, offering a convenient and hygienic solution for daily use. The system operated reliably for two years in my home before wear and tear rendered it unusable, which I consider a solid lifespan for a DIY project of this kind. The experience helped me enhance my skills in hardware integration and practical application of microcontrollers.

Telegram Report Bot

ReportBot is a freelance project developed to simplify tracking loans and shared expenses between two users within Telegram. Built using Python and the pyTelegramBotAPI library, the bot features a user-friendly interface for recording, updating, and summarizing financial transactions. Delivered on time, the bot met all client requirements, with additional focus on error handling and data consistency. While the client expressed interest in further enhancements, the project successfully addressed their immediate needs for financial tracking.

Sea Battle

Sea Battle is a console-based implementation of the classic board game, created to solidify my understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles. The project features modular and reusable code, with classes representing ships, the game board, and gameplay mechanics. Players can manually place ships and engage in a turn-based battle against another human player. While the project is simple in scope, it provided valuable practice in designing clean, maintainable code and structuring complex logic using OOP concepts.
